Going home:
After your Operation or Procedure.
Allow yourself a minimum of 24 hours to recover after your admission. It is imperative you follow all post-operative surgical instructions provided by your surgeon.
At Home
As a result of receiving an anaesthetic you are unable to do the following for a minimum of 24 hours:
- Driving a car
- Signing important documents
- Drinking alcohol and smoking
- Operating machinery
- Any strenuous activity
- Looking after dependant children on your own
Please contact your specialist or an emergency department for any post-operative problems.
Post-Operative Phone Call
In most cases, you will be contacted by a member of the treating team in the week following your surgery to check in on you and discuss your post-operative care.
