Day of Admission:
For Oncology, Rehabilitation or Palliative Care.
Here is some useful information to help you prepare for your stay at Canossa Private Hospital. Knowing what to expect will help you feel more comfortable during your stay with us.
On arrival, please use entry 1, 169 Seventeen Mile Rocks Road, Oxley. There is free parking on site and street parking close by.
On admission you will be welcomed and orientated to the hospital by a nurse.
The first few days of your stay will involve numerous assessments by your admitting doctor, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other allied health staff as required.
An individualised rehabilitation program will then be developed for you using the results of these assessments.
As you progress through your program, you will be closely consulted and involved in your care decision-making and planning for discharge.
Our compassionate and highly qualified oncology nursing staff will be waiting to greet you on arrival and see to your every need.
Your comfort and care while receiving treatment from our oncology service is our priority. We encourage you to get a close family member or friend to drop you off and pick you up from your treatment.
Please wear warm, comfortable clothing. A selection of light refreshments will be provided and we endeavour to accommodate most dietary requirements, however if you have specific requirements you may wish to bring your own food and drinks. We also have a kitchenette available for you to use to make hot drinks.
It is a good idea to bring something to do while you are receiving treatment, such as an iPad, laptop, EarPods, book or craftwork.
Nurses will be waiting to welcome you and your family. You will be shown around the hospital and to your room with beautiful bush views on level 3.
Our multi-disciplinary approach to palliative care uses a range of skills and clinical backgrounds to ensure you and your family are comfortable and well-supported at all times. Care decisions are focused on you and your family and what you are experiencing.
Overnight stays can be arranged for relatives on request, and we offer free parking and unrestricted visiting hours to our palliative care unit.
